Highland Community Council Review Stage 3 Consultation

Consultation

The third phase of the Community Council review invites final comments upon the proposed draft Scheme for the Highland area.

The documentation is based upon a model Scheme published in 2009 by the Scottish Government, COSLA and the Association of Scottish Community Councils. The documents have been considered locally and alterations made only where it was felt necessary to do so to better reflect the Highland situation.

Following the second phase of consultation earlier this year, the documents have been amended to reflect the representations received and the Council is now asking for final comments on the draft Scheme.

The third phase of consultation also provides further opportunity to provide representations upon boundary issues following the phase two consultation period.

Consulation Document

Boundary Amendments

  • Following Phase 1 of the the consulation there were no recommendations for changes to the community council in Strathpeffer.
  • However, discussions are ongoing about changes to the boundary between Strathpeffer and Dingwall where the proposal is to include Fodderty and the Heights of Dochcarty within Dingwall Community Council. Strathpeffer Community Council does not support any changes to the Strathpeffer Community Council Boundary.
  • The current boundary map is available to view and download from this website on the boundary page.
